Bojan Krkic Happy Just To See Playing Time With Barcelona

Young Bojan Krkic is not seeing too much playing time in Barcelona’s big games but he appears to have stamped his mark in the first team when it comes to the Copa del Rey, having appeared in every minute of the competition so far.

Last night he played an instrumental role in helping his side carve out a 2-1 home win over Atlético Madrid, scoring the pivotal equaliser just four minutes after the visitors had taken a surprise lead through Florent Sinama-Pongolle.

Speaking after the match, the 18-year-old was delighted to have made a significant contribution.

“I’m very glad to see more playing time. I enjoy it but I also make the most of it, and if I happen to score, that’s even better,” he told reporters.

“The important thing was to advance [to the next round] and if we also manage to play well, then it confirms that the team are on the right track.”

Midfielder Sergio Busquets echoed his team-mate’s sentiments: “The objective was to progress to the next round and we did that.

“The team played rather well for the most parts against a very complicated rival.

“When Atleti scored first, we had an uphill battle to face but we managed to turn the match around.

“It is always better to win by scoring first rather than to come from behind, but there are certain games, like today, when that is not possible.”

The 20-year-old midfielder was then asked about Barça’s opponents in the quarterfinals, Espanyol.

“I always enjoy playing in a derby, but first, we must think about Deportivo [La Coruña].”

The Blaugrana will be looking to maintain their outstanding run at the top of La Liga when they take on Depor this Saturday.
